The 2021 Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult child and infant patients. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the instructor-led skills session. Upon successful completion of the course learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate with anytime anywhere access to certificate and training history.The American Red Cross is an accredited provider of continuing education by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education. Manikin PAL Certification Process

Follow these steps to complete your CPR or BLS certification through Manikin PAL. Please remember that this is a self-service company, so you are responsible for following all instructions and managing the process independently.

Step 1: Choose Your Class, Organization, and Pay

• Confirm the certification you need:
  • CPR for Non-Healthcare Workers: Ideal for jobs such as foster parents, gym staff, personal trainers, construction workers, and other non-healthcare professionals.
  • BLS for Healthcare Workers: Required for nurses, dentists, physician assistants, doctors, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Pay for your class. You will be automatically sent an email (check your spam folder) with instructions on how to complete the required online course, reserve supplies and book instructor within reservation window. 

Step 2: Complete Your Online Course

• Complete the required self-paced online course and save proof of completion, as you’ll need this for your skills session. Afterward, follow the instructions in your booking confirmation to proceed with the steps for supply reservation and instructor booking.

• There are additional fees of $20-$36 payable directly to the American Heart Association for the self-paced online course. This payment is made when purchasing your course through the links provided in your registration, or by following the links below:

  Be sure to complete this payment to access your online course and save proof of completion for your skills session.

Step 3: Reserve Your Supplies

• Use the link emailed to you after paying for the course to book your supply reservation. This link will also direct you to book your instructor within the same time frame after you checkout your supply reservation. There was also a link emailed to you in case it doesnt reroute properly. 

Step 4: Book Your Instructor

• Schedule your instructor-led skills session within the window that you have the supplies. Be sure to account for commute time to pick up and drop off the supplies.

Step 5: Pick Up Your Supplies

• Go to the location you chose during reservation at your scheduled time to pick up your supplies.
• Fill out the Supply Pick-Up Form (emailed to you upon registration).

Step 6: Conduct Your Skill Session

• Bring the supplies to a location with WiFi and camera capabilities.
• Sanitize the equipment and fill out the Sanitizing Form before starting the session.
• Complete and pass the skills session with your instructor.
• After completing the session, sanitize the equipment again and fill out the Sanitizing Form.

Step 7: Drop Off Your Supplies

• Return the supplies to the location you reserved before the reservation window ends.
• Fill out the Supply Drop-Off Form (emailed to you upon registration).

Step 8: Receive Your Certification

• Expect to receive your certification within 48 hours after successfully completing the challenge.
• Same-day certification is available as an add-on at checkout.
